Challenge
One of the main challenges faced by small-scale farmers in Nepal is the lack of access to modern farming techniques and markets. This often leads to low productivity and limited income opportunities for these farmers.
Additionally, the geographical terrain and remote locations of many farming communities in Nepal make it difficult to establish efficient supply chains and distribution networks for agricultural products.
Moreover, the impact of climate change on agriculture further exacerbates the challenges faced by farmers, leading to crop failures and food insecurity.
Solution
Hamronepal Coop addresses these challenges by providing training and resources to farmers on sustainable farming practices, such as organic farming and water conservation techniques. We also help farmers connect with fair trade markets to ensure they receive fair prices for their products.
Through our cooperative model, we facilitate collaboration among farmers in different regions, enabling them to collectively negotiate better prices and access larger market opportunities.
